As a compassionate, multilingual GP with over a decade of experience, I am committed to serving deprived communities, working to make healthcare accessible to those most in need. My medical training at Imperial College London laid a strong foundation for my career, and I was later honoured to be elected as the local GP representative for our Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). This role enables me to address health inequalities directly and advocate for preventive medicine, with a particular focus on mental health and learning disabilities—a mission that aligns closely with my work as the lead for female genital mutilation (FGM) awareness and intervention.
Recently, I have supported a nurse in becoming a Prescriber and guided our lead pharmacist in achieving her Advanced Prescriber qualification. Both have expressed that my mentorship inspired them, which I consider one of the most rewarding aspects of my role. Currently, I’m also the designated prescribing practitioner for another pharmacist, helping him develop his role within our community pain clinic, which I co-lead. My experience in chronic pain management has not only strengthened my rapport with patients and colleagues but has also equipped me to navigate complex and sensitive conversations.
I am continuously committed to my professional growth, demonstrated by my pursuit of a Master’s degree and ongoing CPD. This journey allows me to bring fresh insights and renewed expertise to my practice every day.
