Butterfield Clinic was established in Cambridge in 2021, founded by GPs aiming to provide patients with direct access to experienced general practitioners in an unhurried, private setting. While we initially offered a ‘fee per appointment’ model, we found that our GPs often hesitated to recommend follow-up appointments due to cost concerns. A membership model that covers as many appointments as most patients typically need in a year seemed like a better solution. We want to minimize situations where a GP might think or say, “Why didn’t you come in sooner?”

It’s with this goal in mind that we launched the Butterfield Clinic Premium & Elite Subscriptions in 2024. These Memberships are structured around a fixed monthly fee covering your annual GP appointments. Once registered as a Premium or Elite Subscriber, we hope our patients will feel confident in accessing appointments as soon as they need them, and our GPs won’t hesitate to recommend follow-up appointments when necessary.
